Moving to Singapore with my husband and 4 kids (Klaas 2014, Karel 2016, Peer 2018 and Pien 2021) in April 2023, excellent schooling was our top priority. We certainly found that at Holland International School! Compliments to the warm welcome and the onboarding process. What a great atmosphere and commitment to the children’s well-being. As an experienced auditor working in the Financial and IT audit & advisory groups within PwC for 20 years, I have experience with a broad range of clients, both listed and unlisted in a wide range of markets. When the role of Secretary crossed my path, I didn’t need to think twice. It’s a privilege to bring my experience and contribute to the renewed strategy, fostering the continuity of this school. Not only for the learning environment of my children today but also for many more to come.

I admit it was my Mexican husband who was first convinced this school would be a good choice for our children; I was hesitant as we did not plan to transition them to a Dutch primary school. The school’s philosophy, great educators and small-scale, home away from home - environment quickly convinced me. Just a year later, I underscore and promote these characteristics. I’m grateful and caring for the Holland International School and look forward to supporting the school with my professional background in People and Culture Development. Outside of work, you will find me running after our two children (Lucas and Vera) or training for my next half marathon.

My kids Rada (groep 5) and Alex (groep 4) have loved every single school day at HIS since we moved from Texas to Singapore in August 2023. I truly believe that it's about the sparkle in kids' eyes when they come back from school happy, excited and with so much new knowledge about the world. Last school year HIS exceeded my family's expectations with the wonderful families and students, the diversity of their backgrounds and the warm approach and support for students to excel academically and personally. This made me want to join as a board member and be part of the school's strategy for a great future of our student community. I am Radina and I consider myself to be a citizen of the world. I have spent the last fourteen years working in Finance for US and Dutch companies in Europe, Singapore and lastly in the US. In my daily life, I enjoy solving accounting, tax and general financial topics and personally spending time with my amazing Dutch husband Mike and our two kids. My other passions are traveling, latin dances and going for a good yoga stretch. It's an honor for me to join the school board! I will contribute my best!

As a parent of our twins in the early years of HIS, I see almost every day how much they enjoy going to school, how they're both growing, and how the teachers make it all happen with much creativity, enthusiasm, and joy. We speak different languages at home because my wife is from South Korea. And living in a global city, I believe teaching the Dutch language is essential to help our children stay connected to their roots. I am privileged and excited to be on the Board and look forward to working with and getting to know many of you for the success of our school and the future of our children.

I am an Australian who has lived and worked in Asia with my husband for over 25 years, and have been in Singapore since 2002. Our three sons, all born here, attended GESS and are currently studying at university in Australia. As a mother of three children, born and raised in Singapore, I appreciate the importance of a good education and the crucial role that school fills in our children’s lives, especially those who are living away from their home country. School becomes a part of their identity and is central to their experience in Singapore. A warm and supportive school environment allows children to grow and thrive. HIS embodies this in its values, through the lyrics of the school song and from my experience on the first day of school, through actions of every staff member, making the school a place where everyone feels accepted and welcome. You may be wondering what attracted me to apply to serve on your school board especially since it is a voluntary role and I do not have children studying at HIS. Serving on a school board is incredibly rewarding. It is a role which enables you to see the impact of the board’s work on a daily basis. You get to know your stakeholders, the parents and children, as well as having the opportunity to work with some amazing people, not only the other talented board members and management team but also the educators, administrators and facilities team members; everyone who makes up the school community - the people you serve.
As a senior-accredited company director with fifteen year's experience in the international education sector in Singapore, I am currently sharing my expertise on a subcommittee of the James Cook University Singapore Advisory Board. Previously, I had the honour of serving in various roles on the GESS Board of Governors for several years. It is now a privilege to bring my skills and experience, particularly in the areas of governance and strategy, along with a thorough understanding of the intricacies of dual-language and curriculum schools, to support the board and contribute to the ongoing success and future development of HIS.
